Capital Construction Custom Homes is family owned and operated by James and Kelli Smith. We are based in the wonderful community of Windsor, Colorado. We service the communities of Windsor, Severance, Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, Evans, Ault, Eaton, Johnstown, Milliken, Wellington, Berthoud, Longmont, Firestone and Frederick.
We enjoy our profession and we believe it shows in the quality of our work, the communication with our customers through their projects and the strong long standing relationships and friendships we build with our customers and our employees.
Capital Construction employs 8 respectful, responsible and experienced employees that offer a wide variety of talents. We are set apart from many other contractors in that our employee based crews complete many of the stages of construction, which allows us to keep projects running on a timely schedule.

I hired Capital to finish my basement, 2900 sq. ft. and the theme was to be an Arcade/Game Room. I offered my own assistance in the electrical system and ceiling as I was very anal about certain aspects of the game room (I have owned a few different homes with game rooms). Their personnel worked with me very well, and the finished product exceeded my own very critical expectations. I am extremely happy with the room, and have had several parties where the guests can't stop commenting on the space. Once the project was underway, we made some running changes such as adding a fireplace and a walkout door where a window originally resided. Also added a "Prize Cage" as we went. James and Kelli are great people to work with, and their expert personnel have done a great job. Highly recommend this company and their staff.

Capital Construction remodeled our fire place surround and fabricated a barn wood mantle. They were honest, fair, timely and professional! We love the quality of work and the barn wood is awesome! It absolutely transformed our living room. We just hired them again to build a pergola on the back patio.

We recently had our basement finished by Capital Construction. I was a bit hesitant at first, as Kelli and James were our friends, and it's always concerning to hire friends. Due to this, I interviewed 4 different companies. However, after seeing 2 projects of theirs and calling a few referrals, there was no comparison on who to hire. Capital Construction not only came in with numbers in our budget, but they made it so those numbers came out with incredible results. Kelli was amazing with her communication and scheduling. I knew who was coming and when. Their guys were kind, courteous and so helpful and willing to answer questions. I had absolutely no problem or qualms about leaving the house with the guys in it. Absolutely trustworthy. An overall phenomenal experience, and have no regrets about anything. I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat.

We had purchased our home 10 years ago and had kept putting off finishing the basement. I had heard horror after horror story from my neighbors about their finishes, so when I started this project I interviewed seven companies. Kelli and James were amazing to work with! They showed up on time and gave me amazing quantities of information on just the first visit to provide a quote. Due to them being so professional and knowledgeable, and offered a reasonable quote, I selected them to work with. Absolutely a fantastic choice! Kelli was amazing at communicating what to expect next and who was going to be there, the construction flowed smoothly, the few bumps in the plan were resolved immediately, they came in on budget and under time! I was clearly informed of costs and options and there were no ugly surprises. And their subcontractors were also amazing. They were so polite, respected my home and cleaned up after themselves. Capital Construction was an absolute pleasure to work with and we are loving our new basement!

This is a basement that is obviously getting "lived in!" I don't know how we managed before without this warm, comfortable space for our tweens (and their stuff!) to spread out in. The additional bathroom for our 12-year old has made a huge difference in the daily routine and we have had great family time in the media area. I'm thankful for Capital Construction for doing such a great job maximizing our budget and paying attention to every detail.
